Missouri Valley Coalition for Homeless PeopleOur mission is to advocate for safe, stable, and life-affirming housing for all. GET HELP
We are comprised of non-profits, government agencies, churches, businesses and citizens all interested in assisting the needs of the homeless population.
Each year, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires communities to do a point in time count of homeless individuals. Youthworks staff, interns, and youth advisory board members covered the community of Bismarck from 3 am to 5 am on January 23rd to identify homeless people.
Rachel Monge from the Great Plains Food Bank joined them in the project that was coordinated by the Missouri Valley Coalition for Homeless People, Inc. Tanya Smith and Leann from Salvation Army covered locations in Mandan at the same time, while other volunteers from the Coalition will be making contacts during the daytime.
Please consider joining a Monthly Meeting, to connect directly with local service providers and community members who are committed to MVCHP’s mission: Everyone Deserves a Place to Call Home. Meetings are open to the public, and membership is not required to attend a meeting.
Monthly Meetings take place on the 4th Monday of each month (holiday exceptions occur), and are currently being offered in a hybrid format, with both in-person and remote options available. Each monthly meeting will utilize the same in-person location and the same remote connection information.
All meetings run from 10am-11:30am CTIn-person option
